Do I need to be an Australian citizen to apply for this job?
No, but you will need to legally be able to work in Australia to apply for to drive with us. We can assist you with the application for a Australian working visa.
Do I need to hold a West Australian driver’s license to apply for this job?
No, if you have an interstate or international driver’s license, we have the capacity to support our staff to obtain the Australian PTD (Public Transport Driver) authorisation as part of their employment with us. A PTD authorisation is an annual authorisation that permits a person to drive a vehicle for hire or reward. You can check your current drivers license here. You can check your current demerits here
If you hold an equivalent authorisation from another Australian state, you can apply for recognition of your non-WA PTD authorisation. Broome Transit / Broome Taxis can assist you with this.
Am I eligible for a PTD authorisation?
You can apply for a PTD authorisation if you:
- are aged 20 years old or more; and
• hold a current and valid WA drivers licence; and
• have held a driver’s licence, or the equivalent driving authorisation from another
jurisdiction for a period of three (3) years; and
• have not been disqualified from holding or obtaining a PTD authorisation (i.e. committed a
disqualification offence).
Broome Transit/ Broome Taxi can also assist you with organising your PTD authorisation.
What accommodation is included with this job?
We will provide successful applicants with your own air-conditioned, fully furnished single room with shared facilities. The location is close to the Chinatown side of Broome, close to the beautiful Town Beach area which has recently been revitalised. No transport will be required for you to get to and from work.
What relocation assistance is available for this job?
We will assist successful applicants with a one-way flight to Broome from their nearest capital city.
Do I need to have a medical and police clearance?
Yes, all applicants will require Federal Police Clearanceand a medical will be required.

Located in northern Western Australia, Broome is 1,390 miles/2,240 km north-east of Perth and is located in the Kimberley region.
